San Francisco, CA – Purity.Organic Produce (formerly Pacific Organic Produce) launches a new product this season, “Heirloom Blend” organic fingerling potatoes, to celebrate over a decade of working with Cinacia Farm.
The “Heirloom Blend” is a trio of Cinacia’s best selling organic fingerling potatoes: the Russian Banana, the Ruby Crescent and the rare Purple Peruvian. Cinacia is one of the few growers of certified organic Purple Peruvians in the US.
In partnership for over 10 years, Cinacia and Purity.Organic Produce were one of the first to bring organic fingerlings to the mass market and since then, Cinacia has become one of the largest certified organic grower and packer of fingerling potatoes in the US. Known for a high quality product and pack style, each bag of Purity.Organic fingerlings from Cinacia is hand-packed, setting an industry standard for the market. “Our goal has always been to lead the market, not follow it”, says Cindy Adkins of Cinacia Farms.
Elizabeth Davis, category manager for Purity.Organic Produce says, “We’ve seen a lot more fingerling potato producers enter the market this year. Despite the increased competition, sales of Purity’s fingerlings have increased as much as 30% at some retailers for the 2011/2012 season.”
Cinacia Farm is owned and operated by Cindy Adkins, whose family has been growing organic produce for generations. Grown at 7,000 feet above sea level in the San Luis valley of south central Colorado, Cinacia produces five varieties of organic fingerlings including:
- Russian Banana
- Ruby Crescent
- Austrian Crescent
- Buttercream
