GUIJUELO, Spain — Geminiano, one of the oldest and most reputable Spanish Serrano ham producers in the world, launches international websites to sell their products online. For 100 years, the Guijuelo ham producer has only sold their products to butchers and delicatessen shops in Spain.
The Iberico ham from Geminiano has been exclusively sold in Spain for four generations. The international launch is therefore a real opportunity to taste one of the delicacies produced in Spain.
Geminiano is famous in Spain for their top grade Spanish ham, such as Iberico pata negra "Bellota."
But what really distinguishes this company apart from the quality and history is that it is the only ham provider in Guijuelo with a female owner, Remedios Sanchez.
Prices for the gourmet ham will be the same as in Spain plus the cost of shipping.
For the 100 year anniversary, Geminiano decided to launch two websites to sell top grade Spanish ham abroad. The first markets are Germany and UK, while shipping to USA and Scandinavia will open up shortly.
Iberico ham specialist Enrique Martinez explains: "We want people from all over the world to be able to explore the magnificent taste of pure Iberico ham. Now it is possible."
Iberico ham will be sent from the factory directly to the customer. Most Spanish ham producers sell their products through distributors, but Geminiano has decided to deliver directly to the customer. This way, the company keeps controlling the complete process and can ensure storage in the right temperature conditions.
About ham from Guijuelo
Guijuelo microclimate is unique for the curing process, taking place 1000 meters (1093 yards) over sea level. Around 75% of all the worldwide production of Spanish ham is produced in Guijuelo.
This region is famous worldwide for their high grade pigs, grown up in a natural environment and fed on a natural diet of acorns in combination with a favorable climate.
Launching international sites
Geminiano has built sites with a small range of products. All products are of incredible high quality, where the company tries to become a friendly place where the customer feels comfortable.
Geminiano has reached an agreement with David Harris, originally from Australia. He is a lover of Spanish food and has explored and discovered the enormous array of outstanding Spanish cuisine that the country offers. He considers himself an ambassador of Spanish food and now answers questions in his own section.
In an attempt to enhance the international community's understanding of how to cook and serve Serrano ham, the company has launched "Ask the Chef" where new ham recipes are launched every month.
