HOOD RIVER, OR – Turtle Island Foods, America’s leader in the Refrigerated Meatless Deli Slices subcategory and makers of the popular Tofurky brand, welcomes three flavors to its growing family of deli slices: Bologna Style, Roast Beef Style and Pepperoni Slices.
The new flavors join the existing lineup: Hickory Smoked (the #1 selling meatless deli slice in the USA), Oven Roasted, Peppered and Italian.
Perfect for vegans, vegetarians and those seeking a healthier lunchmeat alternative, the organic tofu-based slices are just the thing for creating fast, easy and delicious meals. Sliced ultra thin for stacking on sandwiches, the deli slices – which mimic the texture and taste of their original counterparts – are all good sources of protein; contain less fat, sodium, and cholesterol than conventional lunchmeats; and have only three to five net carbs per serving.
Each deli slice variety is certified 100% vegan, kosher, free of GMO’s, nitrates and MSG and made without hexane-extracted soy protein isolates. Tofurky slices also contain 50% more slices per pack than the competition.
The Bologna Style slices are ideal on sandwiches, especially the traditional bologna with mustard. The new Roast Beef Style slices – which have replaced the Philly-Style Steak Deli Slices – have a robust and hearty taste and pair particularly well with horseradish or vegan au jus. The Pepperoni Slices satisfy pepperoni lovers as a pizza topping, in sandwiches or as an appetizer alongside vegan cheese.
Seth Tibbott, founder of Turtle Island Foods, says, “The popularity of our deli slices inspired us to further develop the line and include more options for our consumers. The feedback we’ve received so far is that people are really enjoying the taste and convenience of these new vegan alternatives to classic sandwich flavors.”
Tofurky Deli Slices are currently available in select natural food and grocery stores across the country for an SRP of $2.99 for one 5.5 oz package.
