NEW WINDSOR – Continental Organics, which will raise fish and organic vegetables to be sold to northeastern wholesalers, was the first company to set up shop almost two years ago in the Orange County Business Accelerator at Stewart Airport.
Now, the company will remodel and expand the former Belle’s Catering facility in New Windsor into a 900,000 square foot facility for their grow operation that will create 120 jobs.
Orange County Executive Edward Diana noted this is the first company to “graduate” from the Business Accelerator.
“It’s all about jobs, jobs and more jobs. How can people live here and work here, raise their families here and have good paying jobs to make that happen,” he said. “We thought the Business Accelerator would work. This proves it is working. We literally filled up with the capacity of innovative new businesses that can be in that accelerator and this one, though, has graduated out.”
