Reser's Is Expanding Innovative Top Bake Side Dishes

Beaverton, OR – Reser’s is expanding its new line of refrigerated side dishes featuring a proprietary “Top Bake” cooking process that delivers home-baked taste, right from the microwave. The initial launch of the Reser’s Main St. Bistro Baked Sides™ line in the meat department generated compelling sales results. The company is now extending the line into supermarket deli departments where it will be sold under the Reser’s Baked Sensational Sides™ brand.

“Supermarkets offer products in different ways across store departments,” notes John McCarthy Jr., category manager. “For example, pizza is offered in nearly every department: frozen, deli and grocery. We’re expanding our line of baked sides to help retailers better serve shoppers,” states McCarthy.

A New Slant on a Household Favorite
While prepared side dishes such as mashed potatoes and macaroni have been around for nearly two decades, there has been little category innovation—until now. Reser’s developed a proprietary baking process that delivers an amazing texture: a crispy and cheesy top layer that covers a rich and creamy base. Previously, only made-from-scratch casseroles delivered this kind of oven-baked taste.

New Products Available in August
Reser’s Baked Sensational Sides will launch late summer in supermarket delis nationwide. Each of the four flavors: Scalloped Potatoes, Twice Baked Potatoes, Hash Brown Casserole and Macaroni & Cheese is packaged in a 14oz. microwave/oven safe tray with a suggested retail price of $3.99.
