Food Safety By John Butts, Land O'Frost's VP Of Research

With the return of the fall and back-to-school season, comes the return of sack lunches. And everyone knows that a sack lunch’s best friend is the sandwich, and one of the most common sandwich ingredients is lunch meat. Recently, there has been a lot of discussion in the marketplace about the safety of meat and meat products.

At Land O’Frost, food safety is our number one priority, and in my role as vice president of research, I have an important job of making sure that we continue to be a leader in keeping lunch meat tasty, fresh and safe both on and off the shelves. In fact, Land O’Frost has been awarded numerous industry recognitions for food safety technologies, including American Meat Institute Safety awards and Safe Quality Food (SQF) Certification on all three of the company’s facilities.

Meat is an important part of a healthy, regular diet and provides numerous benefits to our bodies including protein, valuable vitamins and minerals. It also helps to fight hunger, and lastly – it just tastes good!
