Chesterfield, Missouri – Due to rising costs, AB Mauri Fleischmann’s will increase prices in the United States and Canada on all propionate products and chemical leaveners, as well as other select bakery ingredients, effective August 15, 2011 or as contracts expire. Factors impacting pricing include transportation, packaging, propionic acid, phosphates, corn starch, and other key raw materials.
Calcium and sodium propionate will increase 5 cents per pound, while increases for other select bakery ingredients will vary based directly on their different input costs.
“Our year-over-year cost increases have significantly outpaced pricing to our customers,” said Greg Strauss, vice president of sales and business development, AB Mauri Fleischmann’s. “Like other ingredient manufacturers before us it is imperative for the health of our business to address these impacts.”
AB Mauri Fleischmann’s is dedicated to providing best-in-class yeast and bakery ingredients and asks that customers contact their sales representative for additional information.
