WOOSTER — The leadership of Buehler's Fresh Foods is bringing in a chief operating officer to handle day-to-day grocery operations to free them up to work on diversifying and moving the company into new areas.
Daniel Shanahan, who most recently was chief financial officer and a principal partner for Wilson Farms, a Western New York-based convenience store chain with 188 units, will start July 11.
Buehler family members will continue to own and operate the company, said Bob Buehler, vice president of marketing and merchandising.
"We had been looking at ways to grow the company, and as we looked at that, we decided we wanted to become more diversified," Buehler said. "We wanted to grow the business and look at other opportunities."
