BROOMFIELD, Colo. – What is in the food we eat? Are fruits and vegetables important? Can everyday activities burn calories? Visitors to the World of Wonder (WOW!) Children’s Museum in Lafayette can find the answers to those questions and more as they explore nutrition and fitness in Eat Well, Play Well, an engaging, educational and bilingual science exhibit sponsored by WhiteWave Foods.
Eat Well, Play Well encourages healthy living by teaching the science of making healthy food choices and sharing fun and interesting ways to stay active. Visitors can learn what an appropriate serving size looks like, see firsthand what it takes to burn off calories, test their flexibility and balance, and see how they can reduce their risk of disease by making healthy choices. The goal at the end of the exhibit is for visitors to realize that a healthier lifestyle is within their grasp.
On Saturday, June 11 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., the Museum will host a grand opening street fair celebration during which free samples of Horizon Organic® milk and Silk® will be provided. Attendees can also enter a drawing for the chance to win a year’s supply of Horizon Organic and Silk products. The festivities will include fitness activities and demonstrations, healthy food samples, games for kids, dance performances and more.
“Similar to the WOW! Museum, WhiteWave Foods has been a long-standing member of the Colorado community,” said Blaine McPeak, President of WhiteWave Foods. “And as a food and beverage company, with leading natural and organic brands such as Silk Soymilk and Horizon Organic, health and wellness are a very rich part of our culture.
