Domex Superfresh Growers® collected their third 1st place title in as many years by winning the corporate division of the annual Gap2Gap race held in Yakima, WA. on May 4th, 2011. The event, sponsored by the Yakima Greenway Foundation, marks the 27th running of the event and is one of the major sources of funding for the creation and maintenance of the Yakima Greenway trail system.
Team Superfresh Growers bested their competitors in the Elite/Ultimate division “Corporate Team” by more than 11 minutes. The race includes a 2-mile rough field run, 12-mile mountain bike ride with over 1,100 feet of elevation gain, 8 mile kayak leg on the Yakima river, 20-mile road bike course with the final leg being a 10K (6.1 mile) run along the Greenway path. This year’s team included Mark Holtzinger (team captain), Mike Preacher and Loren Queen of Superfresh Growers and Matt Monson of Monson Fruit, its Selah, WA. shipping partner.
