CANTON — The St. Lawrence County Industrial Development Agency Local Development Corp. has approved an $800,000 loan to Upstate Niagara Cooperative, Buffalo, to help the company reopen the North Lawrence Dairy.
The agreement authorizes a $400,000 loan from the St. Lawrence River Valley Redevelopment Agency, which requires joint approval from the LDC, and an additional $400,000 loan from the LDC.
The former Breyers plant had 137 employees when its parent company, Healthy Food Holdings, announced in January the plant would close.
