Fresh & Ready Foods Recalls Chicken Noodle Salad

WASHINGTON – Fresh and Ready Foods, a San Fernando, Calif., establishment is recalling approximately 770 pounds of Asian Chicken Noodle Salad because the product contains egg, a known allergen, which is not declared on the label.

The product subject to recall is:

  • 7 oz. boxes of Asian Chicken Noodle Salad

The products subject to recall bear the establishment number "P-39892" inside the USDA mark of inspection, were produced on May 23, 24, 25, and 26, and bear sell by dates of May 27,28, 29, and 30. The products are available as buy-on-board items on domestic United Airlines flights.

The problem was discovered by an FSIS inspector during a routine label review at the establishment. It occurred when egg, which is contained in the noodle, was left off the label for the final product. FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and to ensure that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.
