In June, Costa Rica will be host to a three-day meeting of schools of floristry from all over the world, organized by the ‘Escuela Iberoamericana de Arte Floral’ – the Latin American School of Floral Art.
The event – which is the second in its kind – will bring renowned teachers and floristry schools together to participate in a variety of workshops and demonstrations. Moreover, German master florist Gregor Lersch will be there to oversee the happenings, as well as give a top-notch tutorial of his own.
Visitors will have a number of options to choose from regarding the exact program and the length of their stay. For example, from June 12 onwards, there will be organized sightseeing excursions on offer for those that would like to experience a bit more of the gorgeous Latin American country than just its conference halls.
Optional introductory workshops by a number of international floristry masters will follow on June 16. The actual gathering itself, in the Costa Rican capital of San Jose, starts on June 18 and runs until 22. It will subsequently be followed by a special course under the guidance of Gregor Lersch, which has been scheduled from June 22 to 25.
The pioneering conference will certainly allow for plenty of networking and discussion opportunities, and offer high-level demonstrations by each of the attending international schools. Those will include, amongst others, Spain’s Escuela Catalana de Arte Floral and Escuela Taller Kike León; Moscow’s International Project of Floristic Schools; Italy’s Scuola Federfiori and the Polish School of Floristry.
