Remember the mock rant in “Ghostbusters” about “dogs and cats living together”? A new campaign for a dairy staple takes another look at the concept of unlikely amorous encounters.
The campaign, now under way, is for the Tillamook brand of medium cheddar cheese sold by the Tillamook County Creamery Association, a cooperative of farms in Oregon. Several agencies are working on various aspects of the campaign, including two that are owned by MDC Partners.
The six humorous commercials that are part of the campaign, which can be watched on television and online, are based on this idea: If people love meals made with Tillamook, what would the meal ingredients have to say?
The commercials present foodstuffs like eggs, tacos, hamburgers and potatoes offering evidence of their ardor for Tillamook. In each spot, a block, or loaf, of Tillamook stands by and never says a word, demonstrating how even in the kitchen there is always a demand for the strong, silent type.
