BATAVIA — Sectioning off a 10-acre parcel in the Genesee Valley Agri-Business Park for development of a $15 million food processing plant was approved by the Batavia Town Planning Board Tuesday night.
Approval of the re-subdivision for Alpina Foods followed a public hearing that did not draw any speakers.
Alpina, of Bogota, Colombia, plans to build a 28,000-square-foot yogurt-manufacturing plant that would create 50 jobs, according to Mark Masse, vice president of operations for the Genesee County Economic Development Center that owns the park.
