LAKELAND – New coupon rules could be in the works for Publix shoppers.
After months of rumors and speculation on coupon blogs and message boards, Lakeland-based Publix Super Markets Inc. is developing a uniform policy on coupon use.
For now, Publix isn't saying what changes are in store. On Thursday Publix spokeswoman Shannon Patten said the companywide policy is scheduled to be implemented "within the next few weeks."
"Our stores have coupon guidelines, but not a specific policy. Our customers have asked us for a coupon policy so that we are consistent in the types coupons we accept at each of our locations," Patten told The Ledger in an e-mail.
