CHICAGO — The Laughing Cow® family of products, a leading U.S. brand of portion-controlled snack cheeses including Mini Babybel® cheese and The Laughing Cow® cheese wedges, announced Friday the launch of its Life Well Laughed Project. With the help of cheese lovers across the country, The Laughing Cow® will donate up to $500,000 to health and wellness initiatives.
"The Laughing Cow® has a mission to make healthy living more delightful. We've taken that one step further with inspiration from the First Lady's Let's Move* initiative to create the Life Well Laughed Project, which seeks to motivate, educate and support communities across the nation to live healthier lifestyles for our kids," said Jon Swadley, Marketing Director at Bel Brands USA, parent company to The Laughing Cow®. "We believe in infusing fun into sensible living and, through the Life Well Laughed Project, we've partnered with organizations that share our goal."
By supporting initiatives and organizations that complement The Laughing Cow®'s light-hearted approach to smart living, The Laughing Cow® is able to help bring fun to additional aspects of health and wellness. For the inaugural year of the Life Well Laughed Project, from April 1 through July 15, consumers can visit LifeWellLaughed.com, enter the UPC code found on the outside of the packaging of The Laughing Cow® cheese wedges and/or Mini Babybel® cheese, and The Laughing Cow® will make a $1 donation to support health and wellness initiatives. The Laughing Cow® has committed a minimum donation of $250,000, but with consumer participation in the project, the company hopes to realize a maximum donation of $500,000. Please visit LifeWellLaughed.com for a complete list of organizations receiving the donation.
"The best way to make healthy habits stick is by making them fun and full of laughter," said Carla Hall, Bravo TV's Top Chef All-Stars contestant and chef/owner of Alchemy by Carla Hall in Washington, DC. "The Life Well Laughed Project does just that by making it fun and easy to support local communities. It's important to lead by example and show the future generations that eating well and giving back are not chores – they're an enjoyable way to spend time!"
"We've made it easy and free for everyone to help. For every UPC code from Mini Babybel® Cheese or The Laughing Cow® Cheese Wedges entered at LifeWellLaughed.com, we'll donate $1 to local health and wellness initiatives," Jon Swadley continued. "Join us in helping our communities get in shape for our kids with support, inspiration, education and a very healthy amount of laughter."
