PILOT MOUNTAIN — Butterbars might seem like an unusual name for a sweet treat. But for Patti Christian, it was a natural choice.
"There's a lot of butter in them," Christian said.
Christian is the owner of Upper Crust Crumbs, a wholesale bakery that makes a line of Butterbars and sells them in area stores.
Currently, she makes six types. They are similar to bar cookies with three distinct layers. But each type is different in flavor, type of base, filling and topping.
