Original SoupMan Retail Collection Now Available In Deli & Soup Aisles

NEW YORK — The retail packaged soup collection made in small, hand-crafted batches by Original SoupMan is expanding its East Coast distribution to now include a flagship ShopRite in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Due to the insight and vision of store owner, Neil Greenstein, Original SoupMan heat-and-serve soups will have a unique and premium presence in the Bloomfield ShopRite; instead of being in the frozen aisle, ShopRite will feature these legendary soups in a branded Original SoupMan freezer in the deli section and a larger branded freezer in the soup aisle. “We are always looking to tie product together throughout the store that make sense, so what better way than to place The Original SoupMan soups in our soup aisle,” said Mr. Greenstein.

ShopRite located in Bloomfield, NJ will now be added to The Original SoupMan’s customer list of fine grocers which includes Publix, Winn Dixie, HYVEE, select Kroger’s on the east coast, Albertson’s in the Southwest and other fine grocers across America. The stores currently offer Original SoupMan's retail packaged collection of five soups: world-famous Seafood Bisque, Award-Winning Chicken Vegetable, Italian-Style Wedding, Tomato Basil and Broccoli & Cheese. The gourmet heat-and-serve collection is comprised of the same classic recipes that Al Yeganeh created in 1984, which is still served at all franchise locations including his iconic Manhattan location at 8th Avenue and 55th Street, the inspiration for the famous Seinfeld soup episode.

“Our goal is to bring Al’s famous soups from the heart of the Big Apple into homes across the country,” said Arnold Casale, CEO of Original SoupMan. “Furthering our mission, we are delighted that consumers who shop at ShopRite in Bloomfield, New Jersey can now experience the great taste of Al’s legendary soups. But remember, in Bloomfield we are in the deli and soup aisle – not the frozen food section!”

Arnold Casale goes on to say, “Moving from the freezer section to the deli and soup aisles is an exciting and ground-breaking presence for The Original SoupMan and an industry-changer as a whole.”

About The Original SoupMan:

Al Yeganeh opened his famous soup shop in 1984 at 55th Street & 8th Avenue in Manhattan. It soon became a worldwide destination, setting the standard for innovation and excellence in soups, and gaining global fame as the inspiration for Seinfeld’s soup episode.

With the launch of The Original SoupMan restaurants and his new retail packaged line of premium gourmet, “heat-n-serve” soups, Al and his team are giving everyone the opportunity to experience soup as it was meant to be – at home, or away! To assure the continuity of the brand’s legendary quality, the SoupMan has assembled a group of experienced franchise owners and experts in the supermarket industry who love soup as much as he does, to make his soups a house-hold product. On February 1, 2011, SOUPMAN INC, its parent company, commenced trading on the OTC Bulletin Board® (OTCBB) under the ticker symbol SOUP.
