Sonoma, CA – The Bread Bakers Guild of America’s 2011 regional event series, Breadville USA: Exploring Local Baking in America, will land in The Lone Star State on March 19, when award-winning baker Jeff Yankellow teaches a sold-out class, “Artisan Breads: Flavors of the Southwest,” in San Antonio, Texas.
Participants in the class, which will be held at The Culinary Institute of America, San Antonio, will learn to use Southwestern ingredients such as chipotle and jalapeño peppers, corn, and mesquite meal to transform traditional artisan bread into unique baked products.
Yankellow is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. He was a member of Bread Bakers Guild Team USA 2005, which won the gold medal that year at the prestigious Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie (World Cup of Baking) in Paris, and is a coach for the current team.
