The 2011 Upper Midwest Bakery Association convention was an outstanding event.
The show faced some challenges with fears of more snow and the volatility of our industry. Six hundred people attended the show. We were very pleased with the turnout of bakers and cake decorators. They came from Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and surrounding areas.
There was good representation from Educational Institutes from the area. Hibbing Community came in a bus. St. Paul College and Art Institutes were well represented.
The show floor was filled with vendors.
More hotel rooms were taken than in the past year. On line registration was available.
