Kingsville, ON – With the concern of food safety and consumer satisfaction at the forefront of the retailer and food service fresh produce industry throughout North America, Mastronardi Produce/SUNSET® was named sole winner of the DuPont Food Quality Award for 2010 This is the first time a fresh produce company has been selected to win in the 10 year history of this award. The annual award is sponsored by DuPont Qualicon and presented by Food Quality magazine to a North American company for their outstanding food safety initiatives.

The Food Quality Award annually honors the dedication and achievement of a North American Quality Assurance/Quality Control team that has made exceptional contributions to food safety and consumer satisfaction with a positive impact on business results. Based on a decision by a panel of impartial judges, Food Quality magazine will present the annual award to Mastronardi Produce/SUNSET® at a reception and ceremony hosted by DuPont Qualicon during the Food Safety Summit in Washington, D.C. on April 20, 2011.
