BROCKTON, MA — Manny Monteiro, 29, has a smile and a nod for every customer who enters his Campello neighborhood market. He knows many by name.
But the service at M&M Seafood Inc. is only half the secret to the popular, family-run market’s success. The other half?
“Hard work,” said Manny’s father, Manuel Monteiro, 49. “We put lots of hours into it and try to be nice to everybody.”
That hard work means coming in six or seven days a week and constantly conceiving ideas on how to improve and expand the market at 1122 Main St., whose clientele includes local Cape Verdeans and Haitians.
