Mexican bread maker Grupo Bimbo will increase investment 38 percent this year, executives told analysts on a conference call on Friday.
The company, which reported a lower quarterly profit on Thursday after taking a hit from higher commodity costs, will spend more on manufacturing, particularly in Brazil and the United States, said Chief Executive Daniel Servitje.
Capital expenditure will rise to about $400 million from $290 million last year, he said.
