Commodities & Energy Futures Expert Jim Bower To Address ABA Convention

WASHINGTON, D.C. The American Bakers Association is pleased to announce that Jim Bower, president and owner of Bower Trading, will be the anchor of the business sessions on Monday, March 28 at the 2011 ABA Convention.

“When it comes to the commodities market, Mr. Bower is a well-respected pro,” said ABA President & CEO Robb MacKie. “With the markets more tumultuous than ever, he will be a tremendous source of practical, relevant guidance that will help guide our industry leaders to manage ever-growing commodity risk. It is this sort of information that makes ABA’s convention so very valuable for attendees.”

Mr. Bower brings to the table more than 30 years of experience in the commodities and futures market. His company, Bower Trading, is a full service commodities futures and options brokerage firm specializing in trading the global agricultural market. Since its founding in 1988, it has grown to be a nationally-recognized leader in its industry. Mr. Bower is a frequent guest on business shows on CNBC, MSNBC and Bloomberg providing keen observations on energy and commodity markets.

“Attendees will recall that Mr. Bower joined us for the 2009 convention as well,” MacKie continued. “His presentation was extremely well-received and we have no doubt his expertise will be all the more crucial after the market fluctuations we’ve seen since then.”

The 2011 ABA Convention promises to be the premier industry event of the year. The theme of “Enriching Bodies and Lives” is a celebration of the enrichment the baking industry provides the country. The ABA Convention will bring together hundreds of leaders from America’s baking businesses and their suppliers for networking, idea exchange, and working sessions. Registration is open through Feb. 25 to both members and prospective members. More information may be found at www.americanbakers.org
