It seems that in the United States there is a celebratory month for everything. While some are more significant like Black or Women’s History Month, some seem to be a creation of the businesses that support them, like October’s Eat Country Ham Month, or January’s Image Improvement Month. (Perhaps you can improve your image by publicly eating a country ham — give it a try!) But in the month of February, amongst the more recognized National Black History Month and American Heart Month, is The Great American Pie Month.
Yes, pie — now that is something we can get behind!
Although cupcakes have taken center stage in recent years, forecasted food trends for 2011 (including a blog post by the baking queen herself, Betty Crocker) point to pie as the new cupcake.
