Simply Bread has turned off its ovens after five years of providing high-quality European bread to Arizona.
The company, located at 2117 N. 24th Street in Phoenix, cited problems with their lender, a struggling Michigan-based bank, not the Great Recession or lack of customers for its demise.
In its half decade, Simply Bread grew quickly. The company stopped operations at 3 a.m. Sunday, leaving its 1,400 retail and restaurant customers, including a lion's share of the Valley's top restaurants, AJ's Fine Foods and Whole Foods.
