IPM ESSEN is the central platform of the international green sector. A large number of associations schedule their get-togethers in a targeted way for the duration of the fair and on the premises of Messe Essen. Because the fair is a permanent fixture in the diaries of a lot of their members and the meetings can thus be combined with each other in an optimum and efficient manner. This year, five associations and institutions will congregrate and present themselves during IPM ESSEN 2011 for the first time.
The Union Fleurs global association of flower and plant wholesalers will hold the constitutive session of its new board of directors during IPM ESSEN. Under its umbrella, the organisation unites 18 national member associations which, in turn, stand for around 80 percent of the worldwide turnover resulting from the import and export of cut flowers, green plants and pot plants.
The Plants for Europe plant breeders' agency will stage its members' meeting. It brings together breeders and cultivation companies at the international level and organises the marketing of the breeds and the protection of their rights. The organisation is a member of the Ciopora association, the international community of the breeders of asexually reproducible ornamental and fruit plants.
The members of the EDRA European DIY Retail Association will also congregate at IPM ESSEN. National sectoral trade associations as well as individual companies are represented in EDRA.
Fleuroselect, the international organisation for ornamental plant cultivation, will introduce its objectives and services on a booth in Fair Hall 2. The association is dedicated, in particular, to the testing, protection and marketing of new varieties. It represents the interests of more than 70 member companies from all over the world and confers the FleuroStar Award to producers of innovative new plants.
