Gulf seafood is still facing a wave of negative perception, but the tide may be turning.
This is, as usual, the busiest time of the year for the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board.
But, this year the board is charged with bringing the seafood industry back from a disastrous 2010, in the wake of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Executive Director Ewell Smith says the board is establishing its strategy to move forward in for 2011, scheduling a number of spring events across the country.
