H-E-B is kicking off construction in North Texas’ Kaufman County this month, but the Texas grocer isn’t done making major investments in that area just yet.
H-E-B purchased 25.6 acres in Mesquite “in anticipation of future growth in North Texas,” a spokesperson told Chron. According to Kaufman County deed records first reported by the Dallas Business Journal, part of that land seems to include about 10 acres that the grocer purchased from Candr LLC on Oct. 22. The day before that, Mesquite City Council approved a zoning application allowing grocery and retail uses at the site.
Lately, H-E-B has been charging ahead on expansion in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with the latter city getting its first H-E-B in April. And shoppers in other parts of North Texas are eagerly awaiting stores that are coming to Bedford and Euless, along with Murphy and Irving, in the coming years.
