CASHMERE, Wash. (Jan. 4, 2011) — Crunch Pak, the largest supplier of fresh sliced apples in the country, was named a 2011 Trailblazer Award winner by Grocery Headquarters magazine.
The Trailblazer award is given in recognition of a company's innovation, excellence and leadership in the grocery industry. Grocery Headquarters selected Crunch Pak for the Trailblazer award after the company was nominated by retailers and industry observers over the past year.
“Crunch Pak received the most nominations in the history of the award,” said Seth Mendelson, magazine editor. “Crunch Pak is recognized by the industry for its innovation in packaging and excellence with regard to ingredients, taste, delivery form, health benefits and more.”
Crunch Pak will be featured along with other Trailblazer award winners in the January 2011 issue of Grocery Headquarters.
Tony Freytag, national marketing director for Crunch Pak, said the award is something the whole company can feel a part of creating.
“It really is a team effort, and we all work together to ensure the best quality eating experience for our consumers,” Freytag said. “It’s very gratifying after 10 years to be recognized by your peers for your commitment to packaging a selling an excellent fresh product.”
Sliced apples are a $120 million a year category and Crunch Pak has 40 percent of the market share.
