It’s a busy time of year for Lora Wee, owner of Baker Wee Bakery & Cafe, as retail customers place their orders for specialty holiday products such as fruitcake and peanut brittle.
These orders come on the heels of 1,500 eclairs for a private party at Chase Field and 300 cupcakes for Discover Card’s employee appreciation day.
But it’s Wee’s cakes that are the most popular with customers. Her cake decorators are able to sculpt cakes into nearly anything. Most recently, they created a groom’s cake shaped like a bulldog, complete with a top hot and bow tie.
