CINCINNATI, Dec. 20, 2010 – Chiquita Brands International, Inc. (NYSE: CQB) announced today its support for the Houston Food Bank’s 24th annual Gift of Produce with a donation of more than 17,000 pounds of fresh bananas. Throughout 2010, Chiquita has provided people in need with healthy, nutritious product totaling more than $4.6 million retail value.

The Houston Food Bank distributes 65 million pounds of food each year to 137,000 people each week. The Gift of Produce event was founded in 1986, and produce is distributed to Houston Food Bank member hunger relief agencies.
