EDMONTON – The Alberta Milk Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Freda MolenkampOudman will become the new general manager of Alberta Milk, effective December 1, 2019. She will be replacing Mike Southwood who will be retiring.
Freda brings over 20 years of progressive experience and agriculture knowledge. She comes to Alberta Milk from Alberta Agriculture and Forestry where she was the assistant deputy minister – strategy, planning and governance division.
“I am truly excited to be working closely with industry again and I look forward to serving Alberta’s dairy industry in this role,” said Molenkamp-Oudman.
She already has a strong understanding of Alberta’s dairy industry and supply management as she previously served as the general manager of the Alberta Agriculture Products Marketing Council. Marketing Council is the oversight body for the agricultural marketing boards and commissions in Alberta. During her time as general manager, she built trust and developed a very wide network of contacts across the whole industry and within government.
Ms. Molenkamp-Oudman excels in the areas of governance, strategic planning and leadership. She has proven track record for network building, collaboration, developing a culture of empowerment, and developing teams that have clear priorities and expectations.
“We are very pleased that Ms. Molenkamp-Oudman will be joining our team and look forward to her building on the strong foundation we already have at Alberta Milk,” says Alberta Milk Board of Directors Chairman Tom Kootstra.
The Board extends their sincerest gratitude to Mike Southwood for his leadership, passion, and dedication over the past 19 years.
