FloraScentials Inc., a St. Louis-based startup developing products designed to bring back the fragrance of cut flowers, has entered into an agreement with an Ohio company to test its technology.
The agreement has been inked with FLORALIFE, a South Carolina-based division of Ohio floriculture company Smithers-Oasis Co. Under the agreement, FLORALIFE will exclusively evaluate FloraScentials’ technology and have first rights to commercialize the startup’s intellectual property and products.
“FloraScentials is using a rationale, scientific approach to develop products that address largely unmet needs and markets in the floriculture industry. Currently, there are no products on the market that can restore fragrance to cut flowers,” said Jim Daly, vice president of FLORALIFE/global grower and research at Smithers-Oasis.
