ACCIDENT, MD – FireFly Farms Inc. is pleased to announce the availability of its 12-month aged goat cheese, Bella Vita, exclusive to Whole Foods Market locations in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, beginning this month. FireFly Farms’ goat’s milk cheeses first appeared in Whole Foods Market stores in October of 2003. This is the second exclusive cheese to be produced by FireFly Farms for the retailer.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have a second exclusive cheese launch in two Whole Foods Market regions,” said Co-Founder and President, Mike Koch. “Whole Foods Market has been a category innovator for decades, their commitment to supporting local and regional producers like FireFly Farms has helped us grow our business and increase our impact on our local economy.”
FireFly Farms’ Bella Vita, a large wheeled, 12-month aged Italian-Style goat cheese, is in stores starting this month, July. Bella Vita, an internationally award-winning cheese, will be exclusively available in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast region Whole Foods Market locations.
This release of Bella Vita follows last year’s release of FireFly Farms’ Cabrita, a four-ounce ripened goat cheese that is made in the tradition of a French crottin. Cabrita, released exclusively one-year ago in the Mid-Atlantic Whole Foods Market locations, is now available broadly to other of FireFly Farms’ wholesale, retail and food service customers.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with FireFly Farms to offer Whole Foods Market customers their exclusive Bella Vita goat’s milk cheese,” said Dana Stanley, Director of Specialty for Whole Foods Market’s Mid-Atlantic region. “FireFly Farms has been an incredible partner to us in the Mid-Atlantic region since 2003, they were selected earlier this year as one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s suppliers of the year. We know our customers will love this exclusive award-winning goat cheese as much as we do!”
This launch of Bella Vita to Whole Foods Market will be celebrated at the American Cheese Society’s annual conference and competition, hosted this year in Richmond, Virginia. The 2019 conference marks the second consecutive year the American Cheese Society’s annual gathering has been held in the Mid-Atlantic, home to the FireFly Farms in neighboring Maryland.
