Lactalis Group continues to develop by signing an agreement to acquire the entire share capital of Nuova Castelli S.p.A., 80% of which is held by the British investment fund Chartherhouse Capital Partner.
Nuova Castelli is a company specializing in the production and distribution of many of the most renowned dairy products in the Italian dairy tradition, and AOC cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano, Mozzarella di Bufala Campana and Gorgonzola.
Nuova Castelli has 13 production sites in Italy and 3 abroad (Poland, Hungary and USA).
In 2018, the company registered sales of 460 million euros, of which 70% in exports. The most wellknown brands in the portfolio are Castelli, Mandara and Alival.
With this acquisition, Lactalis Group is strengthening its leadership in the distribution of AOC cheeses in international markets, where it is already a leading player with presence in more than 140 countries.
Lactalis Group will also strengthen its leading position in Italy, where its organization has over 5500 employees and 29 factories.
However, this operation remains subject to validation by the Competition authorities.
