MILLSTADT — You can set your calendar to the perennials and annuals that grow in the giant greenhouses at Millstadt Gardens and Greenhouse.
Before Valentine's Day, the greenhouses will be full of red and white flowers. Later in the spring, there will be an assortment of pastel-colored flowers and plants, especially lilies. And by fall, it's yellow and orange.
Right now, rows and rows of vivid red, leafy poinsettias sit and are moving out for shipping to supermarkets, big-box retailers, landscapers and florists as consumers shop for Christmas.
