Pre-cut Christmas trees are still popular with many people, and at this time of the year retail outlets are set up to cater to them.
Prices vary, depending largely on variety, where they are grown and size.
One perennial is Dundee Gardens in Hanover Township, which sells about 1,000 trees each year, store manager Mary Ellen O’Shea said.
It offers a selection of pre-cut Christmas trees including Douglas fir, Fraser fir and Concolor fir.
Prices for Christmas trees start at $29.95 and are based on size. O’Shea said trees are hand-selected from nearby farms.
A tree purchased from Dundee Gardens comes with a $10 coupon to be used in the store Jan. 31. The store recycles the used trees and turns them into mulch.
