Surfing America is pleased to announce that the California Milk Processor Board (CMPB), creators of GOT MILK?, has renewed its Presenting Sponsorship of the Surfing America Prime Series for three more years through December 2013.
The Surfing America Prime Series presented by Got Milk? is a nine-event, national contest tour for the best Under 18 year old surfers in the mainland United States. It is critical to preparing the nation's best young athletes–from both coasts–for the USA Championships, the PacSun USA Surf Team, success at the ISA World Junior Championships, the ASP Pro Junior Series, and beyond.
The Surfing America Prime Series presented by Got Milk? features 4-man/20 minute heats, ASP Judges judging to ASP criteria, BeachByte Computer Scoring, and professional announcing. This series determines who gets the coveted invites to the Surfing America USA Championships at Lower Trestles in June.
"Milk and Surfing America are a perfect fit", says Surfing America Executive Director, Michael Gerard. "Milk aligns directly with our core values and with what Surfing America represents. Also, Surfing America is in the process of further expanding its nutritional and physical training program for young surfers–and the continued relationship with Got Milk? further underscores our commitment to the health and wellness of young Americans."
California Milk Processor Board Executive Director, Steve James, agrees. "The Milk Processor Board is proud to renew our sponsorship commitment to an organization that supports such fine student athletes. The great physical condition of these awesome young surfers is a natural reminder of the unsurpassed nutritional package that is milk."
"Words cannot express how excited we are to have the CMPB's continued support for the events," added Greg Cruse, Surfing America's Prime Series Director, "Feedback from parents on the beach has been incredible. And a three year extension of milk's support for Prime will enable us to continue building an already successful program to new heights."
Milk contains protein and minerals that help muscles rebuild after physical activity. Surfing America's Medical Director, Kevyn Dean MSPT, OCS added "Milk remains the best way to get your daily bone-building dose of calcium. Having Got Milk? involved is great and we look forward to embracing all opportunities to promote the benefits of milk through our programming."
