KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Ellis Roberts, a member of Dairy Farmers of America, Inc.’s (DFA) Board of Directors and member of DFA’s Mountain Area Council, was recently inducted into the Idaho Dairy Hall of Fame at the United Dairymen of Idaho (UDI) 2010 Annual Meeting held in Boise.
Roberts was inducted during the UDI’s annual Idaho Dairy Hall of Fame banquet. He was nominated and chosen based on his commitment to the industry, his civic service and involvement with local youth.
Roberts owns and operates a 250-Holstein dairy with his son in Preston, Idaho. They farm 400 acres of land and operate an intensive grazing operation.
“Being inducted into the Idaho Hall of Fame was a real honor,” Roberts said. “I’ve been dairying since I was a young boy and started full time with my father right out of college. This recognition is very much appreciated.”
In addition to his membership with UDI, Ellis serves as chairman of the marketing committee for DFA’s Mountain Area Council and on the Advisory Committee to the College of Agriculture at Utah State University. He also works with youth groups at his church.
