ALBANY — Like a fine wine allowed to age, a group of national food experts has declared P.E.I. beef as some of the finest in North America.
The kudos appears in a recent article published in the National Post newspaper following a tour of Island beef farms and the new Atlantic Beef Plant in Albany this past fall.
“The beef has more beefy taste, resembling what beef used to taste,’’ said the article.
“With greater age before kill and a unique diet (for the animal)….all of this serves to explain why P.E.I. beef tastes differently and, we why we think better.”
The visiting team consisted of National Post Meat Lessons expert Sam Gundy and his team from Olli fee, who visited the province in early October.
