DUBLIN — Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Seafood Processing and Distribution" report to their offering.

The US seafood processing and distribution industry consists of about 550 processing companies with combined annual revenue of about $10 billion and about 2,000 distributor establishments (single-location companies or units of multi-location companies) with combined annual revenue of about $12 billion. Many companies are involved in both industry segments. Major companies include American Seafoods, Bumble Bee Foods, Red Chamber, Tri Marine International, and Trident Seafoods.

The seafood processing industry is concentrated: the 50 largest processors account for about 70 percent of segment revenue. The seafood distribution industry is fragmented: the 50 largest distributors account for about one-third of segment revenue.

This industry profile covers the processing and wholesaling of both wild-caught and farm-raised seafood. Commercial fishing and aquaculture (fish farming) are covered in separate industry profiles.
