KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI — The 2010 Missouri Livestock Symposium will be held Friday and Saturday, December 3 & 4 at the Kirksville Middle School located at 1515 S. Cottage Grove, Kirksville, MO.
One of this year’s highlights will be Chef Dave Zino from Denver, Colorado, who is widely recognized as the Executive Chef for the leading food authority on beef and veal. He is the culinary spokesperson and works on product development and recipes for both retail and food service. Chef Dave is featured in numerous magazines and appeared on the Food Network program “Unwrapped” and on the Food Network’s “On the Grill”.
Heidi Wells, who will speak about eating healthy, is the Director of Nutrition with the Missouri Beef Industry Council and a registered dietitian. She will be addressing “Lean Beef’s Role in Heart Health.”

The Missouri Livestock Symposium features programs on all species of livestock including horses and stock dogs. Hours are 4-9:00 p.m. on Friday, December 3, and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4. The Symposium is free and requires no pre-registration.
The 2010 Missouri Livestock Symposium will also feature a free, co-sponsored beef meal at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and a free co-sponsored Governor’s style luncheon on Saturday, December 4. The Symposium will conclude on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. with a country music concert starring Becky Blackaby (www.beckyblackaby.com).
