Mooney Farms Wins ‘Salad Dressing Product of the Year’ In 2024 Mindful Awards Program

The 2024 Mindful Awards Program, announced that Mooney Farms, a certified woman-owned family farm based in Chico, California and the premier producer of sun dried tomatoes in olive oil in the U.S., has received “Salad Dressing Product of the Year” for their line of Bella Sun Luci Olive Oil Vinaigrettes.

AC Davis High School Junior Takes Top Prize in WAEF Art Contest

The Washington Apple Education Foundation (WAEF) is proud to announce the 2024 Year of the Apple Art Contest winning recipients. Forty-two art pieces were submitted from various high schools, including Cascade, Wenatchee, Eastmont, AC Davis, Wapato, Kiona-Benton, and Grandview. The submissions came from 9th to 12th grade students and were created using colored pencils, acrylic paint, watercolors, gouache paint, pencil, ink pen, and oil paint.

Scholarships Awarded by California Table Grape Growers

Seven students from the table grape growing regions of California earned scholarships awarded by California table grape growers. Growers awarded two $25,000 field worker scholarships to students attending a four-year college or university. Two $14,500 field worker bridge scholarships were awarded to students attending two years of community college and transferring to a four-year college or university.

Prince Edward Island Potato Industry Welcomes Delegation from The Philippines

The PEI Potato Board recently welcomed a 15 member delegation from the Philippines, composed of farmers from the United Potato Producers of Benguet and Mountain Province (UPPBMP), senior executives from private industry, and the Undersecretary of the High Value Crops from Department of Agriculture. The group is on PEI with the goals of knowledge transfer, to continue working on a partnership formed several years ago and highlight fresh potatoes for processing and Island seed potatoes.
