Strawberry Consumption Linked with Heart Health, Cardiometabolic Benefits

As attention focuses on heart disease this February for American Heart Month, the latest research on strawberries, including their potential heart health benefits, was presented at the 9th biennial Berry Health Benefits Symposium (BHBS) in Tampa, FL. This research adds to the growing body of scientific evidence supporting the role of strawberry consumption in promoting heart health.  

FPAA Formalizes National Advocacy Efforts in New Membership Structure

The Fresh Produce Association of the Americas (FPAA) members met to move forward with a newly adopted dues and membership structure that addresses the ongoing work of the FPAA on a national basis.  The new structure also maintains existing state and local level services in Arizona with a foundation to add more services in other states at the discretion of the members.

San Pedro Fish Market Closing

The San Pedro Fish Market will close its San Pedro location on March 3, the date its lease ends. The popular market, which has served diners for more than 66 years, will move to a temporary location while it searches for a permanent site. The move comes as a new development called West Harbor is under construction and expected to be completed in the area next year.
