Smithfield® and the Gene Haas Foundation had the honor of recognizing Tuesday’s Children – an organization formed in the wake of 9/11 that provides a lifetime of healing for families who have been affected by terrorism, military conflict or mass violence – with a $50,000 donation at Stewart-Haas Racing’s headquarters in Kannapolis, N.C. 

Olymel Announces the Permanent Closure Of Its Pork Further Processing Plant in Henryville – Employees Invited to Relocate Within the Company

Olymel management has announced the permanent closure of its Henryville, pork further processing plant in the Montérégie region. This decision will take effect on November 12 under the provisions of Quebec’s Labor Standards Act and will result in the abolition of 29 jobs. The employees affected by this decision, most of whom are represented by the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) Local 501, were all informed this morning through a meeting and a personalized letter. All employees will be offered relocation in nearby Olymel facilities in the Montérégie region.

Terra Nova Nurseries’ Variety Recognized as Plant of Distinction at UGA Trial Gardens

Terra Nova Nurseries today announced that its Begonia DAYSTAR ‘Hot Coral’ was recognized by the faculty and staff of the Trial Gardens at the University of Georgia (UGA) as one of the August 2021 Plants of Distinction. Only 10 varieties were recognized as August 2021 Plants of Distinction in a field of 400 varieties that were evaluated at UGA’s trial gardens in 2021.
