Government of Canada Gives Boost to the Local Dairy Industry in the Eastern Townships and Centre-du-Québec

The Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food announced investments totalling over $535,000 for three projects with Quebec dairy processors that will help boost production and capacity. Minister Bibeau made the announcement during visits to two of the dairy processors, emphasizing that the dairy industry is a vital part of the local rural economy, and the Government of Canada is investing so the dairy industry is well-positioned for sustainable future growth.

Dairy’s New Bottling Line Speeds Up Morning Fresh Delivery

With 1,200 cows — up from about 800 head five years ago — the plant bottles more than 1 million gallons of milk per year. At full capacity it could bottle about 12,000 gallons per day. That output doesn’t include the 70% of Morning Fresh’s milk that’s piped next door to Noosa Yoghurt, the yoghurt company started by Rob Graves and Australian ex-pat Koel Thomae in 2010.
