SK Capital Reaches Agreement to Sell Niacet for $1,015M

An affiliate of funds advised by SK Capital Partners, LP announced that it reached agreement to sell Niacet Corp. to Kerry Group plc, the global taste and nutrition company, for $1,015m on a cash-free, debt-free basis, subject to customary closing adjustments. Niacet is a global market leader in technologies for preservation. It has clear leadership positions in Bakery and Pharma, and cost-effective low-sodium preservation systems for Meat and plant-based food across both conventional and clean label solutions.

Open Sesame, Just Not for Me

The FASTER Act expands the definition of a “major food allergen” for purposes of certain food-labeling requirements to specifically include sesame. In effect, the law makes sesame the ninth major allergen here in the United States, requiring that packaging be labeled when the food contains sesame as an ingredient.
