Stemilt Growers added another year of Role Model recognition for its work to support Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH) and their goal of increasing consumption of fruits and vegetables. This is the 11th consecutive year that Stemilt has been recognized as a Role Model. The company was the first industry/non-retail company to receive the status back in 2007.

USDA Proposes Revisions to U.S. Standards for Grades of Apples

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) proposes revising the U.S. standards for grades of apples to remove smooth net-like russeting as a grade-determining factor in the U.S. Extra Fancy, U.S. Fancy, and U.S. No. 1 grades for Fuji apples.
